Fairly quiet conditions continue on the mountain today before an incoming front from the southeast passes over the mountain on Tuesday. This front will bring consistent rain/snow to base camp and heavy snow from around 8000 to 9000 feet up through 14000 feet. The leading edge of the front will arrive sometime around 0900 AKDT Tuesday and moderate to heavy snow will continue through Wednesday afternoon. At base camp, precipitation will begin as rain Tuesday morning before transitioning to mostly snow by Tuesday night. Winds will shift from the southeast towards the northeast as the front passes through with strong winds expected Tuesday night from 14000 feet towards the summit. Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening near the mountain but should become more isolated through midweek.
