The main fire concerns continue to be hazardous heat conditions persisting into late week across our Florida counties. However, we will see the heat wave begin to abate heading into the weekend as higher rain chances, and lower temperatures move in. High temperatures well into the 90s will be common with heat indices of 105 to 110 degrees most afternoons, especially across Florida. Thunderstorms will be capable of frequent lightning, gusty/erratic winds, and locally wetting rains. Winds will generally be light and variable most afternoons except near the coast where a daily seabreeze will bring slightly higher winds each afternoon. A weakening front moving through will begin to drag drier air into our AL/GA counties by late this weekend and early next week and this could bring some increase in fire concerns as drier conditions develop.
