Dry weather is expected to prevail area-wide through Wednesday. A drier air mass will filter over inland locations this afternoon, but decreasing surface and transport winds will preclude Red Flag Conditions. Otherwise, breezy onshore surface and transport winds will prevail today along the northeast Florida coast. Elevated mixing heights will create good daytime dispersion values for inland northeast and north central Florida, with fair values forecast elsewhere. Critically low humidity values are expected across inland southeast Georgia on Monday afternoon, with low values possible at inland locations elsewhere. Easterly surface and transport winds will prevail across our region by Monday afternoon, with light speeds continuing at inland locations that will again preclude Red Flag Conditions. Elevated mixing heights will yield marginally high daytime dispersion values for the Ocala National Forest on Monday afternoon, with fair to good values forecast elsewhere. An Elevated Fire Danger will be possible for most inland locations each afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday due to near critically low humidity values, elevated mixing heights, and high daytime dispersion values. Southeast to southerly surface and transport winds will become breezy on Tuesday afternoon, with breezy conditions continuing on Wednesday as winds shift to southerly and southwesterly. Strong west-southwesterly transport winds are forecast area-wide on Thursday, with breezy surface winds and elevated mixing heights again creating high daytime dispersion values. Scattered to numerous showers and potentially a few strong thunderstorms are expected to develop on Thursday afternoon and evening, mainly for locations north of the Interstate 10 corridor.
